New Delhi: Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi will travel to Uttarakhand on Saturday (February 5, 2022) to address a virtual rally in the state linked to the elections. The Congress leader’s visit is seen as a way to boost the morale of party workers in the state ahead of the Assembly elections.
Uttarkhand Congress official Devender Yadav has informed that Gandhi will organize a virtual polling campaign in Haridwar and Haldwani Assembly seats.
“Rahul Gandhi will visit Uttarakhand on February 5. He will hold a virtual election campaign in Haridwar and Haldwani,” Yadav told ANI.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra released the Congress manifesto for Uttarakhand’s polls on Wednesday. the manifesto promised to reserve 40% jobs for women in the police department, jobs for four lakh people and the creation of a “tourist police” force.
The manifesto titled ‘Uttarakhand Swabhiman Pratigya Patra’ also promised to prioritize women in 40% of government jobs and to cap LPG prices at 500 rupees.
Uttarakhand will go to the polls on December 14 and counting will take place on March 10.
