Mohan Kohli of The Printers House died this morning – June 26, 2022
Mohan Kohli, who made The Printers House one of the world’s leading manufacturers of web offset presses, died this morning in New Delhi. Cremation is scheduled for noon on June 27, 2022 at Lodhi Road Cremation Ground.
The Printers House was founded by the Kohli-Sahni families which gave birth to a number of other offset press manufacturers in Faridabad, where its factory was based, and in the NCR of Delhi, of which Faridabad is one of first industrial cantons.
Born in 1939, Mohan Kohli had been ill for several years and he leaves behind his wife Natasha and his son Rishab. For the past two years, his son Rishab Kohli has run the business. As a director, he led a company with customers in over 60 countries around the world.
Mohan Kohli was known as a Swiss-trained engineer and remembered showing him Swiss measuring instruments in his factory, talking about automation in manufacturing and his desire for standardized mass production. He was known as a strong supporter of IPAMA – unfazed by the ups and downs of the industry.
As one of his IPAMA colleagues said upon hearing the news of his passing, “Mohan Kohli was respected around the world – a giant gentleman in the Indian printing equipment manufacturing industry.” As the industry faces current challenges and opportunities, it takes a deep breath and pauses to mourn one of its builders. May he rest in peace.
